Yesterday Ev had his hand surgery. Basically after an appointment with the hand surgeon to see if he needed surgery it was inevitable as he had completely fractured the scaphoid in two! So they will be putting a 28mm nail into the bone to hold it together.
The surgery went well and poor Ev wanted to go home that day but unfortunately once the nerve block in his arm had worn off he was in a world of pain. No way would he have been ok to come home that night as it's a 3 hours drive and needed morphine injections.
Today he was much better {and less grumpy} so we made the trip home. He will be in a cast until we go back to the hand clinic and then a splint for 8 more weeks.
