Friends and marriage....

We have had a few friends marry over the years so I have been lucky to see many different wedding styles, budgets and cultural differences.

I was very lucky today to attend one of my good friends weddings in Sydney today. I really loved her dress and the venue was lovely. It was a very warm day but we hardly took any notice. What we all did notice was how in love the couple appeared to be. My friend was so calm, probably one of the most relaxed brides I have seen in a long time.

Got me thinking about how big do we want our wedding to be? And really it's not where we have it and what we do, it's the fact that we are in love and that all our loved ones will be with us to share this amazing moment in my life.

So now we are engaged...

It's funny how everyone asks "so when's the wedding?" to be honest we aren't sure - we are thinking 2 years time, so maybe around 2012, it really comes down to how much we can afford and save in that time.

So now we are engaged we are thinking about a small destination wedding and a big engagement party so everyone can join us to celebrate. I'm a bit overwhelmed by everyones opinions and what they think would be best. Kind of hard to sort everyone else's ideas from what we really want, but Evan & I have spoken about it and we want the small wedding. We want to save for it ourselves so we can say we did it!
